Sunday Funnies - Peanuts
This ornament is a page out of my childhood. My mother had one brother, and his name was Charlie Brown. They had an uncle who had had a stroke which affected his memory. As young children, my brothers, sisters and I liked to read the Sunday Peanuts comics to our great-uncle since Charles Schulz used words we could pronounce and understand; we'd sit on the floor of the living room at his feet and read to him. When we'd reach a part where we read about Charlie Brown, our uncle would tell us Charlie hadn't been to see him recently. We didn't understand why he thought a comic strip character would come to visit him and we didn't know he was talking about our uncle. As soon as I saw this ornament I knew I had to have it since it reminded me of those Sundays in childhood, and I've had the pleasure of having artist sign it.
