Ambassador Ornament Line 1979-1982
From 1979 through 1982 Hallmark produced a new line of AMBASSADOR branded ORNAMENTS. These items were sold through its subsidiary, Ambassador Cards and were available at 5 & dime stores such as Woolworths, Ben Franklin, supermarkets and drugstores.
Nineteen 1979 LOW PRODUCTION TEST ORNAMENTS were called the "Holiday House Collection" & almost entirely repackaged ornaments from the regular Hallmark Keepsake line. They are VERY LOW PRODUCTION and considered RARE and valuable if in their original Ambassador/Holiday House Collection Box. The only way to determine if a 1979 Ornament is Hallmark or Ambassador is if it is boxed in an Ambassador box. No box ornaments are considered Halmark, which had much higher production numbers.
In 1980, 21 Ambassador ornaments were produced. None were reissued from the Keepsake Line. The few1981-82 designs were also exclusive to the Ambassador line.
