QX4514 - Keepsake Ornament
A RARE one-of-a-kind Artist prototype... VERY VERY FEW prodotypes were sculpted of wood and hand carved.
This is a HAND CARVED wood prototype of the 1984 Chickadee. The 1984 Chickadee ornament was produced in Porcelain and in a smaller, more colorful design.
The prototype was carved without feet as it was designed to be a clip on ornament, which is the way the 1984 Chickadee was produced.
Each feather of the bird was hand carved & stained in brown tones.
This is a very early version of the Chickadee and at some point the tail has been repaired, but barely noticible, see pictures.
This listing is for the Prototype only, the regular production porcelain chickadee ornament is shown for comparison.
