SNOWFLAKE BALL
This serene Snowflake Ball was inspired by a striking 1960’s red-and-silver snowflake pattern that Hallmark Artist Matt Johnson uncovered in our illustration archives. Matt thought the metallic foil of the original design of the original design would look better on a more wintry background, so he applied the bright whites and silvers to a cool-blue field. Blown-glass craftsmen in Poland used a special process that crystallized the paint, then added glitter and hand-applied beads to the snowflake pattern to reflect the frosty feel of the season.
